Apple closed out its week of product announcements with its "Pro and tell" event on Wednesday, where it took the wraps off its long-rumored touchscreen MacBook Pro. Though Apple may have saved its biggest and most exciting update for last, it revealed a few other device upgrades and updates in the days leading up to its big reveal. We've rounded them all up here.

Apple CEO John Ternus revealed the company's first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, allowing you to perform gestures on your screen like scrolling, swiping, and pinching. The company says the touch sensor is "built directly into the display panel," …

Apple just announced its first touchscreen MacBook at its "Pro and tell" event on Wednesday. It showed off the long-awaited touchscreen in a video of the new MacBook Pro during the event that you can watch right here to see the new display in action.

The new MacBook Pro's PROLED XDR touch display is a tandem OLED panel with up to 2,000 nits of brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a hole punch for the webcam, rather than a notch. Apple says the new laptop weighs as little as 3 pounds. It also brings back the glowing Apple logo on its lid, which Apple CEO John Ternus teased in a video on X.

Apple raises the MacBook Neo’s student pricing again

28 October 2026 at 15:47

The MacBook Neo now starts at $649 on Apple's Education Store, up $150 from its initial $499 education starting price. As reported earlier by MacRumors, the student discount for the Neo received a $50 price bump in recent days, following a $100 price bump back in June.

Apple's budget MacBook is now just $50 off its regular $699 starting price for students, rather than the usual $100 discount. The now-$649 starting configuration includes 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, and doesn't include Touch ID.

The MacBook Neo's starting price was its biggest selling point when it launched in March, but that perk has been steadily eroding, largely du …

A fridge is about to be merged with a toaster. Dogs and cats are soon to be living together. But it's not mass hysteria; Apple is expected to finally announce a touchscreen MacBook tomorrow at its "Pro and Tell" event.

A laptop with a touchscreen should be no big deal - we've had them for ages. But Apple took a hardline stance against them. In addition to Tim Cook's infamous 2012 quote equating it to combining kitchen appliances, Steve Jobs emphatically dismissed touchscreen laptops as "ergonomically terrible" back in 2010, saying, "Touch surfaces don't want to be vertical."

The closest Apple got was the MacBook Pro Touch Bar, from 2016 t …

It looks like the long-rumored touchscreen MacBook might actually get announced next week, and after using the Lenovo Yoga 9n for our testing of Nvidia's RTX Spark platform, it got me thinking: this is a lot of what I want from a touchscreen MacBook.

Like the Apple silicon in modern MacBook Pros, RTX Spark is an Arm-based processor with a beefy integrated GPU and lots of unified memory. And the Yoga is the most fun RTX Spark laptop so far because it's a 16-inch 2-in-1 convertible with a stylus. Its Nvidia-powered compatriots also have touchscreens, like most Windows laptops, but they're conventional clamshell designs.

The Lenovo Yoga d …
