This week on the Frotcast, we're talking about new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia, who WAS involved with a fitness MLM, but did NOT pass the bar exam, despite her law degree and legal work in China. Oh crap, she managed to get fired in between the time we recorded this and posted it. Is that a new record?
Oh well, Joe Sinclitico is here from the Olsen Run Comedy Club (other credits include: Frotcast episodes from 2011). We've got many other things to discuss, including the Donald Trump quote of the year ("only a Hispanic could survive that fall") and Jerry Seinfeld describing how the events of October 7th have affected his taste in Porsche colors.
Finally, we review Nate Bargatze's new movie The Breadwinner, one of the most oddly takeless movies any of us have ever seen, which none of us managed to make it all the way through. A man who can't cook or buy eggs is not a comedy, it's a tragedy. Also, can we quit it with child actors already? Damn.
Matt will be back next week for my songs about eating butt. Until then, send your questions, comments, concerns to frotcast@gmail.com, 415 275 0030.
Stop writing that Star Trek spec script. It’s bad and you have a new episode of the podcast to listen to. Writer, comedian, & contributor to The Greatest Year in Pop Culture on E!, Ashley Ray returns to talk to Matt & Vince about Mad Men season five episode 10 “Christmas Waltz.”
Sometimes a character leaves Mad Men and you hope he comes back, but you never see them again; like Sal. Sometimes a character leaves the show, and you don’t care what he’s up to, but he shows up again; like Paul. What’s Paul been up to? Becoming a Hare Krishna, possibly experimenting with gay stuff, and still writing weird, racially-charged fiction.
Also doing some bad writing: Lane. He forges a Don’s signature to write himself a $7,500 check to pay off his British tax debts. He’ll be fine though, right? He’s not going to get caught and do anything drastic in response, right? I haven’t seen anything past this episode, so don’t tell me.

This week on the Frotcast, author Adam Wilson drops by the Frotquarters to discuss his new novel, Fail Sons(out this week, from Penguin Random House). Sorry, Chet Hanks, it's actually a road trip novel about two estranged Jewish brothers on a road trip with their father's cryonically frozen corpse. It's a Men’s Journal Best New Book of Fall 2026. It's a Lit Hub Most Anticipated Book of 2026. It's a She Reads Most Anticipated Fiction of Fall 2026. It's a Publishers Weekly Editor's Pick.
More importantly I liked it. It's about what mid-life crises look like for Gen Y. It's about fatherhood, the burdens we place on our kids, and the burdens our parents place on us. Also it's about the American West and why Gen Z are scary. In a weird twist, my own father died in between the time I started it and finished it. Which is wild, considering it's a pretty breezy read.
Adam's third novel, I ask him about his dream cast for his most adaptable book yet, and about how pissed he was when A Real Pain came out and was so similar to the book he was writing. Jesse Eisenberg you son of a bitch.
This week’s Draper-D story is a parody of “Eleanor Rigby,” (which was Sisqo’s inspiration for “The Thong Song,” in case you hadn’t noticed) but it could have easily been a song by The Heartbreakers and their leader Tom, because everyone is being so petty.
Betty is trying to turn Sally against Megan because she’s a sad, fat, divorced woman who just squirts whipped cream in her mouth and thinks about her ex-husband. Those are Vince’s words, but to be fair, that is how the show depicts her. Don’t be mad at Vince because Matthew Weiner made her this way.
Don realizes Ginsberg has better ideas for the Sno Ball account so he attempts to bury his new rival’s pitch in favor of his own. Then we get the famous scene where Don says he doesn’t think about Ginsberg at all, and if your understanding of that scene were entirely based on memes, you might think he meant it. Lucky for you, you have this podcast to explain the art to you between parody songs that recap the episode in terms that rhyme with "poopoo."

In brief: Guest Will Poole, aka Wapplehouse, aka Kristi Yamaguccimane, from Jortscenter pod. News discussion: urine enthusiasts trying to trick AI. Movie discussion: Unabomber on Netflix.
Will aka Kristi Yamaguccimane joins the Frot this week, and folks this one has it all: dumb guys singing about drinking pee, dumb guys using AI to drink pee, dumb guys who aren’t drinking pee but had they done so would have been less embarrassing than what they actually did, and the Unabomber.
AI-wielding pee drinkers are using their favorite LLMs to justify drinking pee. For your health. Said pee-drinkers, with their insatiable thirst for…knowledge, are here to give you all the hot tips on how to bully AI into telling you exactly what you want to hear (in this case, that drinking pee is part of a balanced breakfast). That would seem to defeat the purpose of consulting with a machine that purports to be the sum of all human knowledge, but that hasn’t stopped pretty much any one of these AI-poisoned idiots yet. HEY GROK CREATE A METAPHOR FOR THE FOLLY OF MAN BUT PUT IT IN A MODERN CONTEXT AND MAKE IT STUPID. HEY GROK MAKE IT STUPIDER!
Next, we cover the viral moment in the Jack Smith Congressional hearing where Missouri senator Eric Schmitt showed his entire ass by not knowing ball. He thought he had Smith dead to rights and revealed his Perry Mason moment, only to discover he had the wrong sport and city. Amy Klobuchar had to step in to explain the difference between the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA and the Iowa Hawkeyes of the NCAA. Imagine not being able to win an election against these guys. You would have to be a real fucking loser!
Who will stand up for the grandparents? Certainly not them, that chair is comfy, the heat is set at 85 degrees, and they have arthritis! We go to Florida, where we hear the harrowing story of one gamgam’s quest to see her grandson after being cut off by her daughter, who by the way could have done much better than Darrell and is too hippy for those slacks.
Finally, this week we watched Unabomber, wherein a fictional character played by Shailene Woodley fights the laws of the United States and apparently physics to apprehend the non-fictional Unabomber. It’s kind of a sci-fi. The Fault in our Star Wars. Anyway, it’s a movie about posting, both in the online and British uses of the word. Solid B+.
You can read Ian K Duncan’s breakdown of the AI doomer sex cult here.
Just taste it. The podcast. Go ahead. Lick the phone. Writer, filmmaker, and one of this podcast’s top-three Daves, Dave Schilling, returns to chat with Matt and Vince about Mad Men season five episode eight, “Lady Lazarus.”
Recession indicator: Pete’s hairline is climbing up his forehead. It’s been discussed on the pod before, but that was not natural. They were shaving his head to make him look balder than he was. Can you imagine? I don’t think I have met any man in my entire life who would be willing to look even a little bit balder for any reason. They always talk about method actors who are just being assholes offscreen, but Kartheiser is doing the real method shit.
Megan doesn’t want to be a mad (wo)man anymore and quits just before Peggy and Don embarrass themselves in front of the Head of Desserts at Cool Whip (Mr. Belding). Don then listens to The Beatles and it makes him mad. He does not understand youth, and yet he married one.

In brief: the now-famous mask requirement conflict at lesbian bar story, the latest Free Press nonsense, and Senator Tommy Tube Steak is very concerned about furries flying planes.
Welcome to another episode of the Frotcast, we start things off with some freedom of expression. That’s right, Brendan’s dog Smokey’s ass smelled so he went to the vet to get his anal glands expressed. While the groomer was concerned he had infected anal glands, the vet was careful to explain that they were impacted and merely extremely full. Furthermore, the liquid was not fetid (her words exactly) and merely had a strong odor. Give it up for Smokey, everybody.
Of course, the bulk of the ‘sode is spent discussing the article that has taken the internet by storm, the Greenfield, Massachusetts lesbian bar. What’s to say that hasn’t already been said? So decenter yourself, acknowledge your land, drop your colonialist paradigm, organize your list of self-diagnosed maladies both physical and mental, and get ready for a cautionary tale about the dangers of Too Much School. If you read this paragraph, you are ableist. Don’t you know there’s people who can’t read out there???? Sit your white ass down and listen while I explain to you how reading supports the patriarchy.
Next, two of our favorite problematic GFs appear, in the definitely-not-entirely-supported-by-like-two-insane-rich-guys publication, The Free Press. Official Frotcast waifu Olivia Reingold sits down to talk with that one girl you know whose entire personality is being cold, Taylor Lorenz. Matt gloats about calling Lorenz’ right turn years ago. I think he deserves a “Kobe!”
We wrap things up discussing Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville Tubgirl addressing congress with one of the most pressing issues of our time. Did you know that a lot of pilots and air traffic controllers are furries? How can trust the plane to land safely if ATC’s are suddenly distracted by a laser beam shone on the floor? Are the pilots under the influence of catnip? Is this just yet another expression of our current nationwide psychosexual meltdown? Or has coach been reading too many Richard Scarry books? When reached for comment, Senator Tuberville declined to speak and got in his apple car and drove away. Get it? He’s a fuckin’ worm.
Don’t go in that room. Your dad’s co-worker might be getting dome in there. Just stay here and put on this week’s episode with comedian, co-host of the Oh Hell Yeah podcast, jacked thought leader, and MYAM producer, Brent Flyberg, returning to talk to Matt & Vince about Mad Men season five episode seven, “At the Codfish Ball.”
Yes, yes, Brent Flyberg, the author of this and all other episode descriptions, is back for a third episode this season as an emergency fill-in for a guest who lost power due to the advancing consequences of climate change denial, so it’s sort of a good news, bad news situation that we’re making the best of.
This episode has BARS. From Pete’s “That’s what I do,” to Peggy’s mom’s “Get a cat,” to Don’s “Lots of people who haven’t taken LSD know that, Roger,” this episode is stacked with great lines. You’ll need more context to understand what makes those bon mots memorable, but you’re watching the show, right? We’re not here to spoon feed you. What are you? Some kind of baby who needs us to explain everything to you? Grow up. Watch Mad Men on HBO Max, you little f*ckin baby.

Hey, we managed to get our shit together this week and record a pod! You may thank us now, or thank us over time via flexible options from our new corporate sponsor, Klarna! Frotcast LLC is not responsible for any broken limbs resulting in failure to remit to Klarna. Klarna is not a corporate sponsor of Frotcast, LLC. Ask your doctor if Klarna is right for you.
We start things off discussing grave matters of national security. Girlfriend-haver Kash Patel testified before Congress and was asked about relaxing hiring standards at the FBI, particularly in regards to applicants’ prior experiences with bestiality. What was this really about? Doing a solid for a college buddy with a “youthful indiscretion” in their past? Covering up Patel’s sheer incompetence? A distraction from an incredibly unpopular war and a looming midterm bloodbath? This is America man, two grandstanding assholes talked past each other and we all got dumber. Thanks for tuning in. (Speaking directly into a goat’s ass) “FBI OPEN UP!!!”
Next up, Ed Sheeran’s tour is Dead, Shearin’ off all of its musical acts after Macklemore had the nerve to sing Thrift Shop say “Free Palestine”. The owners of the venues Sheeran, et al were slated to play decided this was a step too far, which you would have thought was the case when Kanye was singing Heil Hitler in the same venues, but America is truly a land of contrasts. This leads to a robust discussion of a new medical condition we’re calling “I’m reading the news and I feel like I’m having a stroke-itis”.
Next up, we watch Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly, a cautionary tale about the devastating consequences of letting Australians dance. Solid B+.
Get in the car. We’re going to a Howard Johnson’s to eat orange sherbet. On the way, you can listen to this week’s episode with comedian and author of First Time, Long Time, Amy Silverberg, talking to Matt & Vince about Mad Men season five episode six, “Far Away Places.”
The episode is broken into three vignettes focused on Don, Roger, and Peggy. Each goes to a far away place and finds self-discovery. Probably could have stayed home to do that, but then it wouldn’t be art.
Don goes to a Hojo’s upstate with Megan and tries to force feed her orange sherbet. Not in like a kinky, feeder fetish way, so keep it in your pants, sickos. No, it’s more of a classic controlling husband sort of way, and when she’s not receptive to it, he drives off without her. His self-discovery: he’s been too horny to work hard.
Peggy goes to Mars, sort of. Ginsberg tells her he was born there, and definitely not in a concentration camp. Her self-discovery: She has been working too hard to be horny.
Roger’s far away place is the depths of his own mind, man. He drops acid with Jane and a bunch of her intellectual friends. His self-discovery: he’s no longer horny for being married to Jane.

Just two guys, and they're having a good time, having a good time, having a good time...
That's right, it's Vince and Joey Avery one-on-one in the Frotquarters this week, just like our apartment in San Francisco so many years ago. We're celebrating the kickoff of NFL season by discussing our favorite gridiron stories of the past couple weeks, from the fake 49ers receiver who thought he could trick everyone by just wearing a helmet everywhere, to the substation conspiracy, to Jed York soliciting prostitutes. Oh yeah, and DK Metcalf's new thoughts on a secret civilization living inside a hollow Earth... beneath Antarctica or something? I dunno, man.
My hypothesis: if you see a football player with "creative" eye black, there's an 85% chance that guy also has some kooky theories. Take that one to the bank.
But before we get to all that, Joey and I belatedly realize that we both recently joined the dead dads club. I purposely avoided a lot of trauma but not going through my dad's stuff in too meticulous of detail, but Joey unfortunately was not so lucky. This is all covered Joey's last stand-up special, so be sure to check that out.
Oh, and were you in the market for some breaking news? Because it turns out ol' Joey has joined the cast of Bad Monkey S2. I swear I didn't know that until he said it, and certainly not when I was writing nice reviews of Bad Monkey S1. Let the record show that the Frotcast has an incredible knack for catching stars on their way up. All while we continue to fail to the middle.
If you're sad about Matt and Brendan missing their second weeks in a row, feel free to send them an outraged email. Matt was flying back from Portland and Brendan found out he had to go to court an hour before showtime, so there wasn't much I could do. I'm convinced that they also somehow sabotaged Joey's internet connection. I was exhausted from driving all night and morning, but you don't see me skipping shows, do you huh huh??? Anyway, I did my best to pull something together even with the universe conspiring against me.
The whole gang should be back next week. In the meantime, go see Joey do comedy.
As soon as we start this podcast, we warn you, it will be too late to run. Writer, podcaster, and Defector.com editor and co-founder, David J. Roth returns to chat with Matt & Vince about Mad Men season five episode five, “Signal 30.”
Pete’s a lot like Rodney Dangerfield in this episode. He gets no respect and he’s going back to school. He’s taking driver’s ed with a bunch of teens, and one of them has feet that catch his eye, but he gets mogged by a high school quarterback-looking-ass teen, because as much as he wants to be like Don, he has the social skills of coxswain-looking-ass teen.
For a brief moment, Pete has a shred of Don’s respect after Trudy finally tricks the Drapers into visiting the Campbell’s suburban home, giving Don a glimpse of Pete's seemingly happy wife and happy life, but he pisses it away when he indulges in some sex work to impress Lane’s friend at Jaguar. After Mr. Jaguar’s wife finds chewing gum on his pubis, SCDP loses the account, resulting in a conference room donnybrook between Pete “grimy little pimp” and Lane “Mr. Toad” Price. Pete loses and he gets no respect at all I tell ya.

If you need something to listen to while you hide under your bed, put on this week’s episode with comedian Allen Strickland Williams, whose album, Ran Through, is available now, joining Matt & Vince to talk about Mad Men season five episode four, “Mystery Date.”
The offices of SCDP are abuzz after Joyce brings some grizzly photos of the Speck Murders for everyone to gawk at. The images clearly get into Don’s head, because he goes home and has a dream about murdering a former fling he encountered earlier in the day. He doesn’t really want to kill her, of course. He wants to have sex with her, but he knows he shouldn’t, and choking her to death is the best solution his subconscious can come up with.
Sally is freaked out by the news of the nursing students getting murked, but luckily, her stepgrandmother is there to posit that maybe those young women deserved to get murdered because they were sluts. I think technically this scene passes the Bechdel Test.

In brief: We discuss the 2014 Zionist jormp-jomp Elvis biopic 'The Identical,' Jed York's prostitution arrest, and the AI version of the Frotcast a listener made for us.
In full:
FROTCAST CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT: Last week, we referred to Finnish people as “Scandinavian”, which we did not know was incorrect. But let’s face it, neither did anyone else except the one guy who said something about it. The Frotcast regrets the error. [Vince's Note: I knew this, pretty sure I said so, but was corrected on it anyway. So it goes.]
Before we get to the Frotcast, you have to endure…The Fraudcast! That’s right, one of you nerds made our unholy idea of a Frotcast LLM come to life. The results are as bad as the last century of sci-fi would have you believe, but still better than the actual Frotcast. In keeping with behaviors of other cutting-edge tech companies, we have unilaterally decided to force this upon you with no redress. Hail Elon.
Next, the CEO of our beloved San Francisco 49ers, Jed York, was arrested over the weekend in an Ohio trailer park for attempting to hire a prostitute. Arresting officers were bewildered as to why a billionaire would be poon-renting in a trailer park, apparently unable to make the connection to being in Ohio.
This week we watch The Identical, because Vince randomly remembered he saw it over a decade ago and had to spread his misery to us. What follows is a story about twins separated at birth, one who becomes Elvis But Not Really Elvis, the other who becomes an Elvis But Not Really Elvis Impersonator. The Six Day War is in there too. Apparently this is a project by a Jews for Jesus group dedicated to advancing Zionism. Sorry, I had a stroke there. Solid B+.
Eat first. That’s our advice. Then put on this week’s episode of the pod with Comedian and cohost of the What a Time to be Alive and Lie Cheat and Steal podcasts, Kath Barbadoro, talking to Matt and Vince about Mad Men season five episode three, “Tea Leaves.”
Poor Betty is really going through it in this episode. Her second worst nightmare, cancer, might be coming true, but her absolute worst nightmare, getting kind of fat, is all too real. Keep her in your prayers.
SCDP needs a new guy who sleeps all day, is disrespectful of authority, drunk half the time, and smells like pee to help write copy for Mohawk, so Peggy hires Michael Ginsberg, because every ad agency has one jew now.
Don and Harry meet some teens backstage at a Rolling Stones concert, and Harry is such a lecherous little pig he makes Don look like a boy scout. Rock and roll brings out the worst in some people.

This week on the Frotcast, all work and no play make Pikey a dull boy. We watched Hotel Coolgardie, so consider our annual sexual harassment training completed! Except for Matt, who’s not here. Matt, please email HR to schedule a make-up session, and please refrain from mentioning anilingus.
But first, the thing you all listen to The Frotcast for, THE NEWS. In State College, PA, first he got the money, then he got the bussy…in prison. The fraternity member known as “Pablo Pledgecobar” was arrested for possession of cocaine and other various drugs. This has gotta be the biggest scandal in Penn State history!
In other pedophilia news, an elected official in Florida, who notably voted for a bill proposing the death penalty for pedophiles, was arrested for allegedly molesting his five-year-old grandson. Look out for our official Frotcast “Hang your local ‘hang your local pedophile’ shirt guy” shirts, coming soon. It’s almost as if these bizarre fixations provide some sort of window into the psyche of elected officials!
We then discuss Hotel Coolgardie, or as I like to call it, Hotel NOT Cool-gardie, on accounta all the crude behavior these girls had to put up with! It’s a documentary about two Finnish women who take temporary work as bartenders in order to earn enough money to get back home. Unfortunately, said bar is in a remote mining community in Australia, and its customers are exclusively members of a remote mining community in Australia. Cultures collide as the reserved Scandinavians are continually offended by the behavior of black-lunged Antipodean dudes hopped up on Foster’s and goon. Oh well, they’ll always have the memories and the loss of most of their eyesight to look back on.
Where’s Harry Crane? Who cares? There’s a new episode of the podcast. Comedian, co-host of the Oh Hell Yeah podcast, handsome iconoclast, and MYAM producer, Brent Flyberg, returns to talk to Matt & Vince about part two of Mad Men’s season five premiere, “A Little Kiss.”
The whole office is still talking about Don’s birthday party, and it did have the effect Megan intended (“everyone is going to go home and have sex.”) for at least one department head, but no one wants to hear about that.
Joan visits the office, Don & Megan leave early to have some very weird sex, Pete upgrades his workspace, and Lane is a horny little freak with money problems. Should be relatable for most of our listeners.

What’s up nerds, Brendan and Matt are back without Vince, so we proceed to take full advantage of the opportunity to say awful things about Italians. Matt points out what an amazing and handsome job Brendan did with the solo show last week.
Next up, Lights, Camera, Buzz! Get ready for your daily dose of glitz, gossip, and all things Hollywood! OK, I gotta come clean, I was trying to write a shitty blurb for the new bit, so I asked ChatGPT and boyyyyy did it deliver. I guess we found a good use for it after all!
Next, Donald Trump snuck off new Air Force One in a catering cart due to a safety threat, and left Marco Rubio plus a bunch of reporters on the plane. He really has to stop getting us to like him so much.
Finally, we saw The Backrooms. We didn’t get it. Solid B+.
What say you, frot fans? Would you pay a few bucks extra for another solo show? Sound off in the comments!
Here is the Lieb/Goose fight poster, via valued listener Mitch:
Surprise! The fifth season of Mad Yourself a Man begins now! We’ve invited Harry Crane into your home to celebrate. You like that right? Matt & Vince also invited comedian, co-host of the Oh Hell Yeah podcast, muscular genius, and MYAM producer, Brent Flyberg, to talk about part one of Mad Men’s season five premiere, “A Little Kiss.”
To celebrate Don’s 40th birthday, Megan invites all Don’s coworkers and acquaintances into his home to surprise him with a party. She thinks he will enjoy this, because she possesses a level of confidence only attained by the supernaturally beautiful. It’s the same kind of confidence that would lead someone to sing a sexy little rendition of “Zou Bissou Bissou” for her husband in front of all his officemates. After Megan’s performance, Roger gives a toast that implies he wants to have sex with Don’s wife, which was the highest compliment you could give a man in 1966.
Would you have gone home and had sex after that party? Tell us how in a five-star review on Apple Podcasts.

Yup, that’s me. I bet you’re wondering how I got here. Well, it was a warm day in Hampton, Virginia and my mom forgot her diaphragm. That’s what I was told on my 16th birthday, at least. Anyway, Vince is in Ireland and Matt is in Parts Unknown, but we didn’t want to let you guys down so we’re gonna switch things up and do a solo frot.
It’s also a great excuse for me to go through my email inbox and respond to the emails I’ve been ignoring. Sorry guys. There’s lots of great stuff to get through, such as Trump’s toenails, Juggalos, and a sitcom starring Hitler.
But first, Aaron Rodgers picks up the flag on behalf of the worst guys in America and starts asking the hard questions about why ESPN isn’t covering the Fauci trial (???). It’s as dumb as it sounds. He was cooking on the Vrabel/Russini thing though.
We put this together last-minute and there were only a few hours between asking for questions and recording, so if we get enough questions I will do a follow-up episode.
We do have one serious email about mental health and suicide, so feel free to skip that one if you’re not feeling up to it. Call 988 if you’re considering suicide, and remember that you matter.
