World of Warcraft Adds New Raid, Delve Feature, and More in Huge Update

It’s been more than six months since World of Warcraft’s latest expansion launched and it is now time for a massive update to refresh the retail experience with lots of new content.

Everything Arriving in Midnight’s 12.1.5 Update

World of Warcraft: Midnight just dropped update 12.1.5 and delivered a ton of new content for retail players to explore.

The champions of Azeroth face a new threat in the wake of Ula’tek’s defeat during the events of Curse of Ula’tek (12.1). Now, an ancient enemy rises once again as the long-thought defeated C’Thraxxi general, Kith’ix, returns in the latest Midnight content update.

Here is a breakdown of the biggest key features added in the new update:

  • New Raid: The Unbinding of Kith’ix
    • Venture into the hidden and newly unsealed chamber beneath the venomous abyss for an epic one-boss encounter to topple the newly freed C’Thraxxi general, Kith’ix.
    • Available in Story Mode, Normal, Heroic and Flexible Mythic difficulties.
  • New Delve Feature – Labyrinths: Labyrinth of Kindo’jan
    • WoW’s first “mega-delve,” this ancient Amani funeral complex has been sealed for centuries. Now reopened, looters and Vilebranch comb the complex for relics while the interred spirits defend it with deadly force.
    • Players will venture in with their delve companion Valeera enjoying dedicated progression systems, powerful unlocks, and rewards that match the scale of the challenge, including Mythic gear.
  • New Outdoor Events: Aqir Invasions
    • Zone-wide public events taking place in Eversong or Zul’Aman.
      • For ten minutes each hour, champions will tackle a series of public events across the zone, one after another, before confronting an intense boss fight.
  • Keystone Level: Myth
    • Keystone Myth returns and rewards players of high levels of Mythic+ gameplay as they achieve a score of 3600 for the season.

Although most World of Warcraft recent hype has focused on the WoW: Forever beta, it should be interesting to see if this new retail update helps bring back some lapsed players. A lot of players reactivated their subscriptions for the Forever beta, so some players may be more open to checking out Retail’s latest update while they wait for the Classic+ launch date to arrive.

Be sure to check back soon for lots more World of Warcraft news and updates.

Dungeons and Dragons: World of Warcraft Shamans Pair With a Very Surprising D&D Class

Dungeons and Dragons: World of Warcraft is taking on the ambitious task of bringing every WoW class and subclass to life in the TTRPG and Shamans have a particularly interesting and surprising starting class.

Shamans are a very popular class in World of Warcraft and they are also one of the WoW classes that does not have a clear parallel in the core Dungeons and Dragons list of classes. Rather than introducing a brand-new class to support the Shaman players, Dungeons and Dragons opted to make some interesting tweaks to the Barbarian features.

For those unfamiliar with the WoW class, Shamans wield elemental magic with brutality and precision, bringing order to nature’s most chaotic forces. Shamans primarily channel their magic through totems planted into the ground that provide benefits to nearby allies.

So, in order to make Shamans work in D&D, the team needed to figure out how to bring Totems to life in the TTRPG experience.

World of Warcraft Shamans use the Barbarian class from the Player’s Handbook. Each Shaman gains a new Totems feature in place of the Barbarian’s Primal Knowledge feature; the Shaman can plant these totems in the ground as a Bonus Action to grant nearby allies temporary Immunity to certain conditions or to hinder enemies by sapping their Speed. These effects last a short time, but a Shaman can simply place another totem on their next turn.

To support the Shaman specialization paths, players will use a new subclass, an updated one, and the existing Path of the World Tree.

  • Elemental. Elemental Shamans will select the new Path of the Elements subclass and use the raw powers of the universe to deal extra damage to a nearby enemy as a Bonus action, resist elemental damage, cast some elemental utility spells, and hinder an enemy’s lethality.
  • Enhancement. Enhancement Shamans use the updated Path of the Spiritual Guardian subclass to imbue their strikes with additional effects, take damage on behalf of nearby allies, and dabble in Divination magic.
  • Restoration. A Shaman who specializes in Restoration magic embraces the Path of the World Tree and its power to empower allies and pull them out of danger.

When the full gameplay expansion book arrives, it will be very interesting to dive into the full rules and see the various effects of the Totems and the specific features included in the new Path of the Elements subclass.

Be sure to check back soon for lots more Dungeons and Dragons news and updates as the next gameplay expansion release date approaches.

Dungeons and Dragons is available now at local game shops and digitally through D&D Beyond, Roll20, and similar online services. The Dungeons and Dragons: World of Warcraft gameplay expansion releases November 17, 2026.

World of Warcraft: Forever Announces Exciting Skyborne Improvements

World of Warcraft: Forever players have provided a lot of feedback about the look of the new Skyborne race and the team behind the new WoW pillar is listening carefully and ready to announce some major changes coming in the near future.

WoW: Forever Skyborne Standard Definition Character Updates

World of Warcraft: Forever is attempting to walk a delicate line between appealing to Classic purists and drawing in nostalgic players who still want some of the modern conveniences that have developed over the 20+ years since WoW originally launched.

Nailing the right look and feel for the SD and HD modes of the game has proven to be tricky, especially when it comes to the new Skyborne race. Players have been vocal with their feedback about how these models look next to other SD models and the developers are responding quickly with a plan to improve that experience.

“We have heard feedback that the HD Skyborne can be jarring by contrast when placed in the same world as the SD models and world, and we agree…. So, for those of us that prefer the look of SD models and want more choice, Skyborne player characters (and yes SD Druid forms) are in development and arriving early 2027. We look forward to sharing more information closer to that date. For now, here is an early work in progress image.”

Additionally, the WoW: Forever team also took another pass at the Skyborne Druid forms and made a handful of updates based on the player input.

“We removed a bit of the softness, added more detailed fur textures, and adjusted the color saturation. The Skyborne are from an exotic environment, and their Druid forms reflect that, but we don’t want that to be dissonant with the visual language of other creatures in the world.”

It’s exciting to see the WoW: Forever team listening to feedback from players and committing to changes before the game has even shipped. Hopefully the same transparent lines of communication will remain in place once the game officially launches, as well.
