Alienware’s latest 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor is $50 off

15 October 2026 at 19:30
Alienware’s 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor.

The Alienware AW3426DW is discounted to $742.22 at Amazon, just over $50 off its usual price of $799.99. It’s not quite the lowest price we’ve seen on this well-equipped gaming monitor, but still a decent discount. The 34-inch screen just came out a couple months ago, and is equipped with Penta Tandem quantum dots for bolder colors than you’ll find on other QD-OLED panel. And of course, it provides the deep blacks and high contrast expected of the display tech.

Alienware 34-inch AW3426DW curved OLED gaming monitor

This ultrawide (21:9) QHD OLED gaming monitor has a 280Hz refresh rate, a fast response time, and a slick design. It’s tough to get more OLED for your money than with this model when it’s discounted.

Where to Buy:

Alienware supports both Nvidia G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro adaptive refresh rate tech, so PC gamers with modern GPUs can enjoy a smooth frame rate when their systems can’t output a frame rate that matches its native 280Hz refresh rate. The 1800R curve adds an immersive element to the setup, and it has two HDMI 2.1 ports, as well as DisplayPort, and USB-A and USB-C for charging and connecting peripherals.

Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones are $130 off today only

15 October 2026 at 19:10
Woman with long curly hair wearing a set of over-the-ear headphones.

If you missed out on Prime Day’s headphones deals, you’re in luck. Sony’s latest flagship headphones are selling for even less than they did during Amazon’s big fall sale. As part of B&H Photo’s Deals of the Day, you can currently pick up Sony’s WH-1000XM6 noise-canceling headphones in silver for just $328 at checkout ($130 off) for the rest of the day. That’s one of the best prices we’ve seen, and much cheaper than what you’ll typically pay at major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, even during seasonal sales.

Sony WH-1000XM6

Where to Buy:

The WH-1000XM6 are Sony’s best over-ear headphones yet, thanks in part to a new chip, which Sony says delivers the most powerful active noise cancellation in the series. Unsurprisingly, they also deliver the best sound of any WH-1000XM-series headphones to date, with new drivers that produce clearer vocals and richer bass. They’re great for work and life outside the office, too, thanks to improved call quality and multipoint Bluetooth, which lets you stay connected to two devices at once.

If you travel or commute frequently, you might appreciate that Sony brought back the foldable design of the XM4, making the headphones easier to pack. Their wider headband also helps with comfort during long listening sessions, and the earcups can be easily removed for cleaning or to be replaced when needed. Battery life remains solid at up to 30 hours with ANC enabled, and as an added convenience, you can now charge them while listening — provided you use a 3.5mm audio cable alongside a USB-C charging cable.

A photo of the iPhone Duo.

Apple's iPhone Duo foldable phone opens for preorder tomorrow, October 16th, at 8am ET / 5am PT, but you don't have to wait until then to get your order mostly sorted. The company's product page for the phone now lets you select the color you want, along with storage capacity, carrier preference, and whether you want to set up a trade to make the $1,999 foldable a little cheaper.

Once you enter all of the details, all you'll need to do tomorrow morning, once preorders open, is to confirm your order. It'll be sitting in your cart ready for checkout. This will save you some time, and you'll jump ahead of people who are still customizing their …

Save up to 20 percent on gift cards for REI, Barnes & Noble, and more

14 October 2026 at 20:20

While we cover a lot of deals on specific products, it’s rare that we find worthwhile savings on gift cards that let you save on essentially anything the store sells. However, until October 19th, you can save up to twenty percent on gift cards when you buy them through the Google Play store. There are a variety of discounts and retailers available, including 20 percent off $50 at Barnes and Noble, 20 percent off $100 at REI, and 10 percent off $100 at GameStop.

You don’t need an Android phone or tablet to save, but you’ll need to sign up for a Google Play account if you don’t have one already. In addition to the gift cards, Google is offering discounts on subscriptions like Calm and DuoLingo, as well as bonuses on in-app purchases in games like Pokémon Go and PUBG Mobile.

Apple’s new HomeView smart display is $10 cheaper at Amazon

14 October 2026 at 19:24
The Apple HomeView displayed on a desk.
It’s like a big Apple Watch for the home. | Image: Apple

Apple only just announced on Tuesday that its first smart display, the HomeView, will arrive on November 13th, but you can already save a couple bucks on it. Right now, you can buy the display for $289.99 ($10 off) in gray and the creamy white “starlight” colorway at Amazon. Sure, it’s a small discount, but deals on new Apple devices ahead of launch are rare.

Expect a full review of the HomeView in November, but my colleague Jennifer Pattison Tuohy spent some brief time with it and likened it to an “iPhone for your home” that looks a bit like an oversized Apple Watch. It features a gorgeous seven-inch square touchscreen that can recognize up to six household members and automatically switch between personalized experiences, displaying information relevant to whoever is using it.

As you might already know, the HomeView also doubles as a smart home hub, with support for Matter and Thread. You can use it to control compatible smart home devices, view live feeds and recorded footage from HomeKit Secure Video cameras, and more. It also features a 12-megapixel FaceTime camera for video calls, and doubles as an entertainment device, letting you play music, display photos, and more.

Apple’s AI-powered Siri assistant is another big part of the experience, allowing you to ask questions and get information using personal context from your messages, calendar, and emails. That means you can ask it to find your lost keys, play a song someone texted you, pull up a recipe with step-by-step instructions and built-in timers, or help you keep track of your schedule without having to reach for your phone.

$15 gets you Psychonauts 2, the latest Like a Dragon game, and more

14 October 2026 at 16:45
Psychonauts 2

There are several deals happening right now on video games and gaming-related tech that are worth sharing. To start, this month’s Humble Choice drop of Steam PC games is really good. The $14.99 per month service is offering subscribers Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Price of Persia: The Lost Crown, Psychonauts 2, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, and more. You get to keep the games forever, even if you pay just for this month. I’ve tossed around getting each of these games on Steam in the past, and it’s great to get them all here for such a low price.

I’m not going to convince you to hang onto the membership any longer than you plan to, though while you have it, make sure to use it to save on digital games you were considering buying. Nintendo Switch 2 games, for example, are discounted, making Humble the place to get the cheapest prices. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is $53.99 for members, and most other full-price games are about $6 off the retail price.

Other great Verge-approved deals

  • Valve told The Verge in late 2025 that it was no longer manufacturing the Valve Index wired virtual reality headset. The company is now running through the last of its stock and is marking down what’s left by 20 percent. The headset itself is $399.20, down from $499, replacement left controllers are $119.20 (was $149), and replacement tether cables are $103.20, down from $129. The headset requires a base station (also known as a lighthouse) in order to track, and those are unfortunately no longer available via Valve. You’ll have to hit up eBay or Craigslist to get one. Read our review of the 2019 headset.
  • First-person looter shooter Borderlands 4 is all the way down to $19.91 for disc editions of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 title at Amazon. The price for the 2025 game is usually sitting at around $30, though this is the most affordable price to date. The latest game in the series is good at what Borderlands has always been good for: co-op multiplayer goodness. It’s still really fun to jump in with a friend to blaze through its campaign, even if the gameplay is fairly shallow. Read our review.
  • Lastly, whether you already saw Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in theaters or you’ve been waiting for watch it at home, the 4K Blu-ray version is available to preorder with a small discount. Originally priced at $34.99, the set that includes a 4K Blu-ray, a standard 1080p Blu-ray, plus a digital code for the film is $29.99 at Best Buy and $29.65 at Barnes and Noble (members can save 10 percent more). If it’s your first-ever purchase on Gruv, you can get the set for $25.46 when you use the code FIRSTGRUV15 at checkout. The film launches November 17th. Read our review of seeing it in IMAX.

The Nothing Headphone A are half off for the first time

13 October 2026 at 20:33

One of the best deals we’ve seen today bundles together a great pair of headphones with a solid album. When you add the Nothing Headphone A in black or white and the CD version of the Charli XCX album Music, Fashion, Film to your Amazon cart, you’ll save 33 percent on your order, bringing the total down to $97.52. That’s lower than the best price we’ve seen for the headphones on their own, which retail for $199, and you get a free album to boot. The other colors also qualify for the discount, but have a higher starting price, so the discounted price will be higher as well.

Nothing Headphone A

Nothing’s second over-ear headphones may not offer everything found on the pricier Nothing Headphone 1, but you do get physical controls, good sound, and more than five days of battery life per charge. Their design is also a bit more discreet, for better or worse. Read our review.
The Nothing Headphone A with its carrying bag, 3.5mm cable, and USB-C cable on a wooden desk with an iPhone nearby.

Where to Buy:

We reviewed the Nothing Headphone A when they launched earlier in 2026, and praised them for their physical controls, IP52 dust and water resistance rating, and excellent battery life. They have a more subtle design than other Nothing products, opting for an opaque housing instead of the translucent shells on other Nothing headphones.

The Xteink X4 Pro is a great, tiny e-reader, and it’s cheaper than ever

13 October 2026 at 19:19
Xteink X4 Pro
The Xteink X4 Pro is still matching its Prime Day price. | Photography by Andrew Liszewski / The Verge

If you’re looking for an e-reader that can easily fit in your pocket (or snap onto your magnet-equipped phone), the tiny Xteink X4 Pro might be worth a look. It features a 4.26-inch, 800 x 480 E Ink display, making it significantly smaller and thinner than Amazon’s smallest six-inch Kindle. It’s also quite a bit cheaper. Right now, you can pick it up for $84.15 ($25 off) at Amazon, which is its best price to date.

Xteink X4 Pro

Where to Buy:

The X4 Pro brings several welcome upgrades over its predecessors, including a touchscreen that gives readers another way to interact with it. It still has physical page-turning buttons, though. There’s also a new touch-sensitive button below the display for quickly returning to the home screen, along with a built-in light with adjustable brightness and color temperature, so you can read in the dark. It ships with the excellent CrossPoint Reader software, which makes navigating your library and reading books a much better experience than on previous Xteink models we’ve tested, though it’s still not quite as polished as Amazon’s software.

Understandably, not everyone is a fan of Xteink’s decision to swap the X4 Pro’s USB-C port for a proprietary charging connector. If you can look past that, the X4 Pro is a great, little e-reader that features magnets that let you attach it to compatible smartphones, just like previous models. The magnetic connection is stronger this time around, though we still wish it were a little more secure. All the same, my colleague Andrew Liszewski still considers the X4 Pro the best tiny e-reader you can buy, calling it a device he “won’t leave the house without.”

Apple’s HomeView display is now available to preorder

13 October 2026 at 17:30
A screenshot from Apple’s HomeView launch video

Apple is getting into smart displays with its new HomeView. It has a seven-inch squircle design, looking similar to a gargantuan Apple Watch mounted to a speaker base. The $299 HomeView is meant to be the centerpiece for Apple's big push into the home, as it's capable of controlling a host of smart home tech. Additionally, it can display recipes, show music playback controls, let you make FaceTime calls, and display a host of widgets.

The HomeView launches on Friday, November 13th, and it'll likely be a popular holiday gift. You can preorder in in multiple colors, and you have the option at checkout to either include a speaker base (it incl …

Apple’s HomePod Mini 2 is available to preorder

13 October 2026 at 16:15

After nearly six years, Apple debuted a new, improved HomePod Mini. The $149 HomePod Mini 2 will launch on Friday, October 30th, and you can place a preorder now through Apple.

Apple HomePod Mini 2

Where to Buy:

The speaker includes the S10 chip, which debuted in the Apple Watch Series 10, and it can power a host of features. It will support Siri AI after a future update, pairing you with a better, more helpful voice assistant. The speaker can be integrated into a four-speaker surround system with the new Apple TV 4K, and they can serve as speakers for a Mac computer (so long as it supports Wi-Fi 6E). The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is down to $950 after Prime Day

9 October 2026 at 19:41
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra on a desk

Amazon has the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in black with 256GB of storage discounted to $949.99, a healthy discount from its usual price of $1,399.99. This phone’s standout feature is the adjustable privacy display, which can hide your entire screen, or just portions of it, from onlookers and strangers. It doesn’t meaningfully hurt the screen’s performance otherwise, and it’s only noticeable at steep angles, and it includes a built-in stylus for writing or drawing.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung’s 6.9-inch S26 Ultra is the only model in the lineup with the new privacy display, designed to limit what people around you can see on your screen. It also includes the S Pen and upgrades the camera hardware, adding dual telephoto lenses alongside a 200-megapixel main sensor. Read our review.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra on a desk

Where to Buy:

Even beyond the privacy display, the S26 Ultra is an impressive flagship phone for mobile enthusiasts. The upgraded camera hardware makes a big difference when it comes to photo quality, particularly in low lighting conditions. For better or worse, it’s still a sizable phone, with a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, but it’s slimmer and more comfortable than the S25 Ultra.

I only bought Pokémon Legends: Z-A during Prime Day, and it’s still on sale

8 October 2026 at 20:48
A Pokémon Legends: Z-A screenshot depicting a group of trainers participating in the Z-A Royale.
Pokémon trainers gearing up for battle. | Image: Nintendo

After covering Amazon’s October sale for the last few days, only one item found its way into my shopping cart, and, lucky for you, it’s still on sale after the event’s conclusion. Pokémon Legends: Z-A for the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 is $39.88 (usually $59.99 for Switch or $69.99 for Switch 2) at Amazon. The last Pokémon game I played was Let’s Go Eevee!, and Pokémon Moon prior to that, but the unique Lumiose City setting and real-time battles in the latest game have piqued my interest.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the first game in the main series with a real-time battling system instead of the traditional turn-based formula. You’re still catching pokémon, leveling up, trading, and battling in the game’s Paris-inspired setting, but the more action-oriented battles and smooth performance (on the Nintendo Switch 2) are very welcome.
A Pokémon Legends: Z-A screenshot depicting a trainer and a Diggersby sitting at a table in front of a cafe.

Where to Buy:

We reviewed Pokémon Legends: Z-A close to its release last October, and felt like it continued the “Legends” series reputation for overhauling core aspects of the games that many find to be outdated. If you want even more content, Mega Dimension is available as paid DLC (it costs $29.99). A new Switch 2 Edition game bundle that contains the base game and DLC will drop on October 29th, 2026 for $99.99, so I suggest grabbing the game while it’s cheaper.

75 great October Prime Day deals are still happening

8 October 2026 at 16:28

It’s always a little awkward when this many deals survive what was supposed to be the “end” of a big Amazon sale. Nevertheless, I’m happy to say that most of the sale’s heaviest-hitting deals are still around — Apple’s discounts on its Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and AirPods Pro 3, plus all of Sony’s current and last-gen flagship headphones, and more. In some cases, prices went up a smidge but are still worth checking out.

Like earlier this week, some of the deals on Amazon require a Prime subscription, while others do not. Many of these deals are available on competing sites, including Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and in some cases from the products’ manufacturer. You can sort the deals below by category.

We’ll be back to our regular deal coverage tomorrow.

Roku’s OLED TVs are up to $400 off during Prime Day, starting at $700

7 October 2026 at 21:27

Just over a week ago, we covered a deal at Amazon that knocked around 30 percent off Roku’s new (and first-ever) OLED TVs. The deal expired, but has returned for the final day of October Prime Day.

The 55-inch Pro Series OLED is $699.99 at Amazon, which is 30 percent off its list price. The 65-inch model is $799.99, which is $400 off its list price, also at Amazon. Both models support a native 120Hz refresh rate, which is great for gaming, plus four HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K gaming at its full refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 Plus. You’ll also get a backlit Roku remote control.

There have been a few TV deals during Prime Day, though these are the lowest prices on OLEDs by a wide margin. We haven’t tested this model, but it’s an affordable way to get unbeatable contrast for your next movie or game night.

The Meta Quest 3S gets a rare discount during October Prime Day

Until the end of Amazon’s October sale later tonight, you can grab the 128GB Meta Quest 3S for just $297.49 (usually $349.99) at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. While the lenses and displays aren’t quite as sharp as the Quest 3, the underlying chipset is the same, and this is a much more reasonable price for casual VR gaming and movies. In other words, it’s a big upgrade over the Quest 2. You’ll also get three months of Horizon Plus, which gives you access to a huge library of games.

Meta Quest 3S

The Meta Quest 3S is a battery-powered standalone VR headset that has the same chipset as the pricier Quest 3, but with the same lenses and screen resolution as the Quest 2. In addition to being able to play many games from the Meta Store, it can also be connected to a gaming PC to play VR games like Half-Life Alyx. Read our review.

My cats hate to see this great upright carpet cleaner coming

7 October 2026 at 15:55
I’m choosing to believe that they’re cleaning chocolate and Mountain Dew. | Image: Bissell

For a while, I swore by Bissell’s Little Green carpet cleaner. I liked the sub-$100 price, the fact that it was small enough to fit on a closet shelf, and that it does a good job of cleaning up little messes. However, after you clean enough spots around the place, eventually the entire carpet needs a cleaning because the cleaned spots appear in stark contrast. It looks bad!

For a job that big, I upgraded (after doing a lot of research) to Bissell’s ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus. It’s a great upright machine with more power, though I wish I had waited, having paid $279.99 about a month ago. You can currently get one for $209.99 during October Prime Day at Amazon and Bissell (discount reflects at checkout).

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus carpet cleaner

Bissell’s Little Green is handy, but doesn’t cut it for big jobs. If you have pets and a lot of carpet to clean, this is one of the most powerful upright carpet cleaners in its price range.

Where to Buy:

While the Little Green leaves the scrubbing up to you (it handles the sucking), the ProHeat 2X has plenty of deep-cleaning brushes, large reservoirs for dirty water and for cleaning fluid, plus an accessory port that lets you connect a brush-equipped hose for spot cleaning, essentially duplicating every feature I liked of the smaller model.

You’ll need to pony up for some cleaning solution after a handful of large-scale cleaning efforts, and it’s about $23 for a big bottle. I’ve found that you don’t need to use as much of the solution per gallon of water as Bissell notes on the bottle.

Unfortunately, one of my cats threw up at various places around our apartment last night (why can’t cats just do it all in one place?), so I’ll be using this carpet cleaner today. Wish me luck.
