Amazon’s always-listening Bee wearable can now help you buy stuff

15 October 2026 at 14:00

Last year, Amazon bought Bee, a relatively unknown startup with a $50 always-listening AI wearable that summarized every conversation you had. Today, the e-commerce giant is announcing two new Bee devices - and a new subscription to go with them. First is the $74.99 Bee Frontier, an updated version of the original Bee device. And coming soon is the $99.99 Bee Eclipse, a credit-card-shaped gadget that snaps magnetically onto the back of a smartphone.

Both devices are framed as gadgets to help you stay present in the moment. They listen to your daily conversations and then provide summaries, transcripts, insights, and to-dos based on what ha …

I don’t miss the camera on the Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses

13 October 2026 at 20:00

The other day I whizzed past several people while running in the park, my playlist blasting at full volume. The next morning, I smiled at a barista while ordering a caramel apple-flavored matcha latte. Afterward, I sat on a park bench reading a book, called up a pal to chat about her recent trip to Prague, and then asked my Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses what meetings were coming up on my calendar. The chipper AI voice said I hadn't connected my Google Calendar yet (I had) and asked if I would like help connecting. I sighed and then asked it to play an upbeat song. It picked Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us."

These past few days, dozens of people …

The Fitbit Edge may not be Google's best-kept fitness-tracking secret, but as of today, its existence is official.

The tracker sits smack-dab between the recently launched Fitbit Air and the more powerful Google Pixel Watch 5 in the company's current wearable lineup. Basically, if you have smartwatch fatigue but don't want to give up notifications, this is Google's answer to the aging Fitbit Charge 6.

Much of the Edge's specs were previously leaked, but the tracker has a 46 percent larger OLED display compared to the Charge 6, a physical side button, and is a smidge thicker at 11.5mm. It also sports a replaceable battery that gets about a …

It looks like Google is getting ready to take the wraps off its rumored Fitbit Edge next Monday. In a post on X, Google posted a picture of what appears to be the side of the fitness tracker, with the caption: "Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26."

A trove of Fitbit Edge leaks has surfaced over the past couple of weeks. So far, details shared by Dealabs and Android Headlines suggest that the upcoming device could feature a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen, built-in GPS, and several other sensors, including an accelerometer, barometer, altimeter, and gyroscope. It may also come with optical sensors for measuring heart rate and blood oxy …

At $1,279, Google’s Xreal Aura will go head-to-head with Meta’s VR Glasses

7 October 2026 at 14:00

Two weeks ago, journalists in the San Francisco Bay Area got to try two hot new wearables that weigh only around 100 grams: the just-revealed Meta VR Glasses, and the long-awaited transparent Google XR glasses built in partnership with Xreal. It turns out they're going head-to-head. Xreal has just opened Aura pre-orders starting at $1,279, $20 less than the Meta VR Glasses.

That's for the Xreal Aura with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage; there'll also be a 16GB / 512GB config for $1,499. (Xreal couldn't tell us whether the 16GB of RAM would be important for some apps by publish time.)

Both the Google / Xreal Aura and Meta's VR Glasses let …
