It should be very exciting to see how many players and DMs embrace this new content and experiment with the modern horror settings over the next few weeks. The three one-shot adventures can be tackles as standalone content or woven into a large narrative.

Rapping wrestler “Platinum” Max Caster has been fired after delivering a controversial freestyle ahead of his first and last match. Part of Caster’s persona is that he always comes out spitting bars before a match. He’s done it for years, and it was a staple of his time at AEW.
After exiting the company, he was picked up by TNA Wrestling. During his very first match at the promotion’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view on Oct. 11, 2026, Caster made some comments referencing attacks in Riyadh that killed and injured many people. Now, in a statement, TNA has denounced Caster’s comments and announced his firing.
Max Caster was fired from TNA wrestling for making comments about the fatal attack in Riyadh
“Making light of violent attacks is wrong,” they stated. “This should never have made it into the show, and that responsibility is ours. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected. We sincerely apologize.”
TNA continued, “We have removed the segment from replays and our social channels, and are taking steps to ensure something like this never happens again. Max Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.”
Following his firing, Max Caster has spoken out and apologized
In the wake of being fired, Max Caster has spoken out. He apologized and stated that he understood why the TNA President had to make this decision.
“I wanna say thank you to Carlos Silva. I talked to him in person,” Caster said in a video posted on social media. “He was very generous, very professional, even after all this stuff happened. I understand why he did what he did. It’s his show. He’s gotta protect TNA, and I went too far for him. So, I wanna apologize to him and everybody else in the office. I want to apologize to anyone who vouched for me to get that spot. I feel like I let those people down.”
“I’m proud of that match, and I’m sorry for how things have ended up,” Caster continued. ‘And then, for anybody who’s offended, I just want everybody to know that when I do these raps, it’s never to offend people. It’s only to entertain. So, in my mind, it’s entertainment value first. And then if you’re offended by it, that’s your right. So I can’t apologize for anyone being offended, but just know that it’s not my intention to make people upset. If it gets a reaction, I think I did my job.”
“The consequences of everything, I’m accepting that. I can accept the facts of that. And then, to anybody who is asking if I’m good, I’m good. I’m just embarrassed how all this happened. You don’t want it to be one match, and then that’s it, you get fired. But again, that’s the reality of the situation. I’m accepting it, and that’s life.”
When you’ve been a legendary guitarist for over 30 years, you receive certain perks. That was certainly the case in 2021 for Tom Morello. Not only was he “instrumental in getting Randy Rhoads into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” but he was also one of only a handful of people to hold his guitar. The iconic guitarist died in a plane accident on March 19, 1982, at only 25. Despite Rhoads dying so early in his career, he’s among the most influential guitarists of all time.
Each year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame launches an exhibit featuring items from that year’s inductees. In 2021, the exhibit featured Dave Grohl’s 1068 transparent Lucite Dan Armstrong Ampeg Guitar, Carol King’s black Baldwin Acrosonic spinet piano, Todd Rundgren’s embroidered purple suit from 1978, Billy Preston’s Casio Voice Arranger VA-10, and more legendary items. Among those, the exhibit featured Randy Rhoads’ asymmetrical white Jackson-Rhoads Concorde Guitar.
In an October 2026 interview with Classic Rock, Morello discussed the one thing we weren’t allowed to do with this legendary guitar. “His sister, who’s lovely, is very protective of all the stuff. It’s sealed away somewhere in a secret vault, and no one knows where it is. I’d asked her if I could see it, and she said, ‘Nobody sees it.’ You gotta respect that.”
“But then she texts me one day and says, ‘Randy’s guitar is on its way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and it’s going to be at my house this afternoon if you’d like to come by and see it.’ But I was away on tour, so I couldn’t go.” But this wouldn’t be Morello’s only chance to see the guitar up close.
‘The Strap Had Smoke From 1982 Left in It’
Morello goes on to explain, “Cut to about a year later, and she texts me saying the guitar is at her house that afternoon, on its way back from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and now, would I like to go see it? His mom didn’t want anyone else to ever play it again, but I got to hold it. That was pretty emotional for me. The crazy thing was that the leather guitar strap still smelled of cigarette smoke. He was performing up until the day he died, so the strap had smoke from 1982 left in it.”
It makes you wonder if Rhoads was truly the last person to ever play this iconic instrument. If Tom Morello can’t even get the pass, who does?
Over 30 years after the murder of Tupac Shakur, the convicted killer finally knows his fate. According to AP News, 63-year-old Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis has been sentenced to life in prison without any possibility of parole. Back in August, he was convicted of first-degree murder and is the only person who has ever been charged over Pac’s death.
For years, what happened to the hip-hop icon largely went unsolved. All we knew was that one night, he was in a black BMW with Suge Knight when another car pulled up at a red light and fired off several shots at them. Tupac was hit multiple times and died six days later in the hospital.
However, people found that Keffe D was speaking about that infamous night for years. He was granting interviews and even spoke about his role in the shooting in his 2019 memoir. Shakur and his crew had previously beaten up his nephew in Las Vegas. Consequently, he sought revenge and was in the passenger seat when the incident went down. The other people in the car who shot Pac had long passed away, leaving Davis and Suge Knight as the only ones who could recall that night.
Additionally, detectives knew some of these details. However, he was able to avoid prosecution for years because of a deal he made with law enforcement.
Keffe D is Sentenced to Life in Prison for the Murder of Tupac Shakur
Sentencing and all, Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis maintains his innocence. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he and his lawyer are already working on avoiding the life sentence.“S**t, I ain’t worried. I’m getting out on an appeal,” Keffe D told journalist Jeff Weiss. “We already filed it before the trial even started. They violated my civil rights!”
Additionally, throughout the interview, he doubled down on his innocence. He insisted that he wasn’t in the car the night that Tupac Shakur died. Instead, he was far away at a bar near UCLA. The next morning, he was home eating breakfast with his family.
Ultimately, he viewed the trial as a series of lies to try and implicate him in the murder. “Man, they lied about me so much. I don’t even know where to begin,” Davis said of the Tupac trial. “All those cops in there was lying like a motherf**ker. The prosecutors were lying about me. The only one who didn’t was [former FBI agent] Wade Lee.”

A new Premium Warbond arrives in Helldivers 2 on October 20 and brings some exciting new rewards for players to unlock.
Helldivers 2: scope of Authority Warbond Details
Players will be able to access Helldivers 2’s next Premium Warbond when the Scope of Authority releases on October 20.
On October 20, the Ministry of Defense will authorize deployment of the Scope of Authority Premium Warbond – the next leap forward in long-range and clandestine combat solutions to guarantee your squad never misses the mark.
“Deliver Managed Democracy from long range and strike from the shadows with pioneering active concealment tech to eliminate enemies of Liberty before they know you are there with the all-new Scope of Authority Premium Warbond coming October 20.”
Here is a breakdown of what players can expect to find in the co-op game when the new Warbond goes live:
The R-40 Sightliner bolt-action sniper rifle | The best sniper knows the balance of stability and power is a delicate one, and a primary sniper rifle that can balance both is a tall order. After extensive research and trials in the Ministry of Defense, they have developed an elegant solution: The R-40 Sightliner bolt-action sniper rifle. Your trusty sidekick with the eagle eyes, the Sightliner can provide powerful armor piercing rounds and long-range precision.
P-44 Mist | The perfect companion to the exactitude of a sniper rifle primary is something that can provide that same steadfastness with the speed and versatility of a pistol. That brings us to the purpose-built P-44 Mist, a one-handed machine pistol designed for a compact carry. If the enemy closes in on you, carve a path out with the help of the P-44.
AMW-20 Apex | As we have faced larger and more heavily-armored foes, we have responded by making a more powerful and armor-penetrating, backpack-fed, colossal anti-materiel rifle featuring assisted reload: the AMW-20 Apex. The Apex is far from subtle, but there is not much in the galaxy that could survive an assault from it.
LAS-44 Nova | For the advanced tech-loving teams, there is a new entry to the LAS series of energy weapons: the LAS-44 Nova! This sleek rifle has the luxury of infinite ammo provided by weapons of its type, but it fires a high-precision non-explosive thermal projectile after a short charge cycle. A new optimization routine designed specifically for better cooldown performance means your rifle will be firing longer after all targets have been eliminated.
G-11 Caltrops | When thrown, the G-11 Caltrops scatters a wide field of proximity-detonated submunitions that slow and stun foes, making them easier to get in your sights.
Along with the impressive stratagems, weapons, and armors, players will also get the Manual Ballistic Projection emote and a new title to claim to demonstrate your prowess as a distance shooter: Longshot.
Helldivers 2 launched all the way back in February of 2024, but the game is still going strong. It should be exciting to see if this Premium Warbond does a successful job at keeping the active playerbase engaged and drawing back any lapsed players.
Be sure to check back soon for lots more Helldivers 2 news and updates once the Scope of Authority content goes live.
Helldivers 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles.
Linkin Park made their comeback in 2024 with the album From Zero after seven years. Vocalist Emily Armstrong stepped into the intimidating space left behind by late frontman Chester Bennington, and while her addition garnered mixed reactions from fans, she’s since made the role her own. It definitely helped that she recognized that no one could truly replace Bennington on those old songs.
Speaking with People about the Linkin Park documentary Unshatter, Armstrong revealed that she struggled to take on the responsibility. She admitted to periods of intense self-doubt and imposter syndrome, and the negative fan reactions certainly didn’t help.
“You see it in the documentary where I’m just like, ‘Am I even cut out for this?’” Armstrong told the magazine in October 2026. “You’re trying to give yourself every reason to just be like, ‘You’re not good. Everybody knows these songs.'”
Emily Armstrong Explains How She Overcame Self-Doubt About Performing Old Linkin Park Songs
Since the very first performance, Chester Bennington was the raw, tortured voice of Linkin Park. Even after his death in 2017, he remained its heart and soul for devoted fans. So attempting the old songs was likely a challenge, as they’re so entwined with Bennington’s memory. There was no replacing him; that much was clear. But, as Emily Armstrong explained, that wasn’t the goal of Linkin Park’s comeback.
When it came to getting herself out of those periods of doubt, Armstrong told herself, “Don’t try to be like anybody. You’re not a replacement. Nobody could ever, ever replace Chester. Do what you do.”
She continued, “The only thing that I could possibly try with the old songs is just to have the same emotional impact as much as I possibly can with the songs, because that’s what you’re ultimately going to want at this point.
“That’s what I would want as a listener, as a Linkin Park fan,” she added. “I would want that emotional feeling. And I was like, ‘Okay. I think I could do that.’”
Linkin Park’s documentary, which premiered on September 30, 2026, follows their journey to a 2024 comeback. There’s also a focus on Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain as they find their way as the newest members of the iconic band. Unshatter gives behind-the-scenes looks at how they navigated Linkin Park’s existing legacy while embarking on a new era.
In September 2026, the annual Portola festival descended upon California’s Bay Area. Among the high-profile performers was Swedish pop star Tove Lo, who had the high-energy crowd riled up.
Taking time to speak with Vice/Noisey, Tove Lo shared about her Portola experience, discussed the sonic evolution of her music, and dished on what fans can expect in the near future. Scroll down to read our conversation and see a photo diary of her time at Portola, courtesy of photographer Blair Brown.

Noisey: Thanks so much for chatting with us! Your Portola performance was an absolute showstopper. Was it as fun for you as it was for the crowd?
Tove Lo: It really was! It was the first festival set of the tour and our first daytime set, so I felt a bit more exposed at first, but the energy from the crowd was so good I got comfortable quickly.

Your new album, Estrus, is a beautiful evolution of your sound. It’s brilliantly layered and full of some exciting experimentation. Did you have a specific goal in mind with this record?
Thank you; that makes me happy to hear. I think the only goal I had was to make it honest and playful and “dare to go there”. Sonically, I think I just naturally get bored if I don’t push the sound and my melodies in a new direction to what I did last. It’s more intuitive than a planned thing.
Do any of these new songs pose challenges when it comes to live performances?
Haha yeah, some of them are quite hard to sing. I use my whole vocal range to its limits in some songs, like “Die for My Art with a Lonely Heart” or “Are We on a Break”, where the chorus has no room for breathing.
But sonically, my musical director and band have figured out how to translate everything so well to live. We spend a lot of time on that, making sure everything feels as fat as the recordings, but it’s still clear it’s live.

2026 marks the 10th anniversary of your sophomore album, Lady Wood. How do you reflect on that record now, 10 years later?
Lady Wood was a really defining record for me. I think that’s when I gained most of my loyal fans, and I had figured out who I am as an artist and how to express that without compromise. I lost the commercial success a bit, but what are you gonna do? :)

Finally, we know that you’ll be doing a run of European shows in November, but can you tease us with anything beyond that?
What can I teaseee… lots more to come! Both in new music and more touring!

Tragic news struck the family, friends, and fans of rapper and reality TV star Kash. In a report from Fox KTVU 2, she passed away at 29 years old after a shooting in downtown Oakland.
Currently, not much is known regarding the exact details of the tragedy. Officers reportedly responded to calls at around 1:30 am, when the late TV star was found suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital shortly afterward, but died at the facility. A woman based in Richmond has been arrested in connection to the shooting, as the police department investigates what led to the tragedy and why it happened.
Born Mackayla Paige, Kash was best known for her time on shows like “Real West Coast Baddies,” “RoomH8z” and “Young & Reckless”. Friends and family described her as the life of the party in any setting. “Oh my God, she was so fun. Was she not hella fun? Oh my God, this girl was so fun. She had us everywhere,” one of her friends, Poodah, shared with the news outlet.
Additionally, the late Mackayla Paige had serious visions of becoming famous and successful. Whether in reality TV or business, she worked hard to make it big.
Reality TV Star Kash Passed Away at 29 Years Old After Fatal Shooting in Oakland
Her cousin Nicky Clayton shared with KTVU 2, “She still had morals, don’t get me wrong. She wanted to be a reality star. She [wanted] to start her own business, she was modeling for a lot of companies, and she really wanted to do makeup.”
The tragic shooting took everyone by surprise, with her cousin getting teary-eyed, recalling how Kash had just been with family earlier that day. “She was chilling. She was with family. So she supposed to be good. I don’t know what transpired, but I know she’s supposed to be here,” Clayton said.
Meanwhile, her friend Poodahh reflected on what giving Kash was like as a person. She was somebody who would push her to be the best, most successful version of herself. As a result, her death hit especially close to home.
“She pushes me to be better every day. She sees when I’m not giving it my all, and she pushes me to be what she knows I could be,” Poodahh said. “I’m sorry for all of our loss, because she’s a star.”
Epic Games has confirmed that the Honey Sprite and Obsession Sprite are coming to Fortnite on October 15. Here is the full list of new Sprites and expected variants arriving in the next Fortnitemares 2026 update.
How Many New Fortnite Sprites Are Coming on October 15?
Screenshot: Epic Games
Up to 12 new Fortnite Sprites are expected in the October 15 update, including variants of the new Honey Sprite and Obsession Sprite. The Honey Sprite is one of the winners of the Chapter 7 Season 3 community design-a-Sprite contest. It is also the last winning design from the Runners competition to be added to the game.
The Obsession Sprite, meanwhile, is a collab with Curry Barker’s breakout 2026 horror movie of the same name. It will let players use a “One Wish Willow” power, although we are still waiting for the full details on how it works.
So far, only the Honey Sprite has been confirmed to have all six variants. If the Obsession Sprite gets the same treatment, we will have 12 new Sprites to collect. However, if it only has its base form, the total will be seven.

Obsession Sprite
Gold Obsession Sprite (unconfirmed)
Cheat Master Obsession Sprite (unconfirmed)

Bounty Hunter Obsession Sprite (unconfirmed)
Trick or Treat Obsession Sprite (unconfirmed)
We’ll update this list as soon as the Obsession Sprite’s variants are confirmed.
New Fortnite Sprite Powers Explained
Screenshot: Epic Games
At the time of writing, Epic Games has not fully explained how the new Sprite powers work. However, official previews and the Honey Sprite’s original community contest description give us an idea of what to expect:
Honey Sprite: Launches a swarm of bees at enemies when you take damage, according to the original contest concept.
Obsession Sprite: Uses a “One Wish Willow” power, rumored to let you wish for a Sprite in the overworld.
The final abilities could differ from the original concept or rumored details, so we’ll update this section once the Sprites are live. If both new Sprites receive all six versions, the Chapter 7 Season 4 collection will reach 157 Sprites. Which, yeah, is a lot.
With Fortnite Override ending on October 31, these are likely to be the last Sprites added this season. That gives collectors a little over two weeks to hunt them down before the next season arrives.
A new GamesBeat report claims that GTA 6 could release on PC within the first three months of 2027. If accurate, PC players could get Grand Theft Auto VI just a few months after its console launch. However, Rockstar Games has not publicly confirmed the reported release window.
When Is GTA 6 Coming to PC?
Screenshot: Steam, Rockstar Games
According to a new GamesBeat report, Rockstar Games plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027. That would put its launch sometime between January and March, although the report does not give a specific release date.
GamesBeat says the information comes from four industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans. All four reportedly requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships. However, their identities and how they learned about the release window are unclear.
Rockstar Games has not publicly confirmed a PC release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. According to GamesBeat, a representative also did not respond to its request for comment before publication. So while the outlet says it has confirmed the plans through its sources, we are still waiting for an official announcement from Rockstar.
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
If the report is accurate, though, it would be a pretty big deal for PC players who were expecting a much longer wait.
GTA 6 PC Release Could Arrive Just Months After Consoles
Screenshot: Rockstar Games
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC release in early 2027 would mean players only have to wait roughly two to four months for the port if the GamesBeat report is accurate.
That would be a much quicker turnaround than Grand Theft Auto V. The previous game originally launched on consoles in September 2013, while its PC version didn’t arrive until April 2015. That was around a year and seven months of waiting.
Of course, a reported release window isn’t a guarantee. Even if Rockstar is targeting the first quarter of 2027 internally, those plans could change before the studio announces anything publicly. Still, if you were worried about having to wait until late 2027 or beyond to play GTA 6 on your PC, this report gives you some reason to be hopeful.
As many malls have closed their doors in 2026, Gen Z and the young may never understand what the mall meant to millennials and older. It was our place to hang out. You didn’t even have to be shopping for anything in particular. Your parents could drop you off, and you’d hang out in the food court for hours, goofing around with friends. We may have taken this for granted back then, and now younger generations will never understand malls at their peak. To get a sense of what it was like, here are four songs that you’d hear while walking around the mall in the 1990s.
“Two Princes” by Spin Doctors
Just by hearing the snare drum intro alone, many millennials are transported back to the 1990s. This song was hard to escape, and many 90s kids didn’t want to. Their unique blend of funk rock was infectious in this 1993 hit. It’s no wonder it peaked at No. 1 on the US Pop Airplay, No. 2 on the Alternative Airplay, and No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Linger” by The Cranberries
Among the hardest 1990s songs to escape in the mall was “Linger”. It was also The Cranberries breakout hit in 1993. The song carries a sense of innocence that resonated with many teenagers in the 90s. It’s one of the songs that will instantly remind you of your first love, or potentially your first date to the mall. In 1993, the song peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“MMMBop” by Hanson
Not only was this song everywhere in 1997, but nearly every teenager looked like the Hanson brothers. Their blond haircuts were the style at the time. This catchy pop hit earned the young band two Grammy nominations. Released on March 24, 1997, “MMMBop” topped the charts around the world, peaking at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It’s not only the band’s most successful single, but one of the most successful singles of the entire decade.
“Waterfalls” by TLC
TLC is among the defining groups that put Atlanta, Georgia, on the hip-hop map. Their blend of R&B and Hip-Hop culminated in the 1995 hit “Waterfalls”. The song spent seven weeks at No. 1 in 1995, earning the group two Grammy nominations in 1996. Additionally, the music video won Video of the Year at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards.
Hardcore rock snobs can be especially thorny towards hip-hop. Back in the day, people scoffed at it as if it wasn’t “real music.” Eventually, hip-hop became the premier genre in pop culture, and rock slowly faded out of the zeitgeist. Still, some maintain it could never compare. But one of rock’s all-time stars, Bruce Springsteen, advocated for the genre and culture, highlighting two artists who defined music in the 2010s.
During a Q&A at an Apple store in New York, Springsteen spotlighted Kendrick Lamar as a rapper he absolutely loved. One thing he loved most was that he’s “intense” above all else.
But perhaps the rapper he was kindest towards was arguably the most controversial, especially today. “I like Kanye West,” Bruce Springsteen said, per Billboard. “He makes great records. They are creative, amazing records.”
This wasn’t the first time he shared his love for Ye either. Back in 2014, he told Ann Powers for NPR that his Yeezus classic “Blood On The Leaves” left him particularly intrigued. Ultimately, his relationship to hip-hop allows Springsteen to keep his fingers on the pulse of music and culture.
Bruce Springsteen Shares Why He Loved the Controversial Kanye West
“I saw him on television. He did the song called “Blood on the Leaves” on the Later…With Jools Holland — it was fantastic, you know. I still find him very interesting,” Springsteen shared. “I’m not necessarily driving [to] it in my car, you know. I probably fall back on the stuff that I listened to as a kid or something if I’m driving around. But I do listen. I listen to a lot because there’s a lot of information in it and it’s just fascinating record-making.”
Kanye West has always wanted to be a rockstar like Bruce Springsteen anyway. Back in 2007, his only way to do that was to settle down with someone he loved.
“I think real rock stars get married and have little rock star kids. At some point, you have to add some sort of stability to your life,” Ye said. “You have to have something real that you can hold on to. There can be a point where your records don’t sell as much, or you’re not as popular as you used to be. The best thing that any of the Backstreet Boys could have had was a really good woman in their life.”
The stomp-clap style of indie folk is an interesting rabbit hole to get lost in. When you get right down to it, there really weren’t that many stomp-clap bands out there, because it wasn’t a genre that anyone made on purpose. It was just an amalgamation of folk elements—banjo, ukulele, stomping, clapping, heying—that became too popular to sustain itself. Oversaturation by bands like Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros made the style almost universally hated. Not to mention its association with Millennial hipsters, microbreweries, and upscale-industrial burger joints.
These three bands may not be completely forgotten, and they were most successful throughout the 2010s. This list, however, is for the fellow Millennials who really liked these bands, then forgot about them when the whole indie folk hipster thing blew up. Here’s a nice reminder that these bands are still incredible.
The Oh Hellos
Sibling duo The Oh Hellos were fairly prominent in the indie folk pop scene of the 2010s. They first gained a following on Bandcamp with a 2010 EP. From there, they continued to grow as a staunchly independent band. The Oh Hellos released their self-produced debut, In the Deep, Dark Valley, in 2012, and consistently released several more albums and EPs through the years.
Their sound is mercurial, majestic, and expansive, drawing on Celtic musical styles and other folk traditions. Of the stomp-clap era, The Oh Hellos flew relatively under the radar. They had a devoted following, but as a strictly independent band, they didn’t get airplay like Mumford & Sons or other signed bands. So while their contemporaries grew to mainstream oversaturation, The Oh Hellos maintained their creative freedom.
First Aid Kit
Swedish sister act First Aid Kit emerged after their 2008 cover of Fleet Foxes’ “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song” gained attention on YouTube. They released their debut album, The Big Black and the Blue, in 2010, going on to release five albums and four EPs. Their most recent release was Palomino in 2023. They mostly skirted the edges of stomp-clap folk, not fully joining but standing adjacent. Like The Oh Hellos, they didn’t get caught up in the commercial saturation of the style, retaining creative integrity.
First Aid Kit often produces ethereal harmonies and tribal percussive beats, tapping into an ancient spiritual feeling with their music. Their real skill was their sparse, stripped-bare production. They created indie folk songs that sounded simultaneously lush and barren. A dense forest in one moment, a dry desert in the next, but always atmospheric.
The Head and the Heart
The Head and the Heart formed in 2009 and released their debut self-titled album in 2011. Considering genres, they were more involved in the indie folk scene that the stomp-clap style evolved from. That is, the acoustic indie folk of Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, and Grizzly Bear, which in turn evolved from bands like Neutral Milk Hotel.
What the stomp-clap style of indie folk did in the 2000s was mostly overshadow the genuine folk bands who were emerging at the same time. Stomp-clap became synonymous with indie folk because it was everywhere, and because it was everywhere, people grew to hate it. However, bands like The Head and the Heart were still releasing quality indie folk records. It just so happened that the mainstream audience was preoccupied with stomp-clap at the time.

Slender Man is expected to arrive in Fortnite after the October 15 update. According to dataminers, his cosmetics will likely be added to the game’s files on Thursday. However, Epic Games has not confirmed a specific Item Shop release date.
Many of the remaining Fortnitemares 2026 collabs will be added to the game’s files this Thursday, with staggered releases throughout the coming weeks. If we had to guess, October 17 could be a date to watch for Hazbin Hotel or Slender Man, given Epic Games’ recent Saturday crossover releases. That is speculation, though, so don’t mark your calendar just yet.
We’ll update this list as soon as Epic Games releases its weekly shop rotation trailer. Meanwhile, the Obsession crossover is scheduled to launch on October 15, the same day as the upcoming Fortnitemares 2026 update.
Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil adaptation is currently in theaters, but another smaller adaptation is also arriving this month from a former Walking Dead star.
Chandler Riggs Stars As Ethan Winters in Biohazard Short Film
and here we go. my short film BIOHAZARD hits youtube this wednesday, 10/14. can’t wait for y’all to see it. check out my exclusive interview with @IGN from the link in my bio for all the info.
Chandler Riggs has grown up quite a bit since his long run as Carl on The Walking Dead came to a close, but now the actor is attaching himself to another beloved franchise.
Riggs has been working on a short film called Biohazard that adapts some of the most iconic moments from the open hours of Resident Evil: Biohazard. The short film runs roughly 20 minutes and debuts on YouTube this week.
Riggs plays Ethan Winters in the unofficial short film and will offer Resident Evil fans a closer look at the characters face than they got during the original game, which was almost entirely in the first-person from Ethan’s perspective, aside from a few segments.
According to Riggs the short film was aiming to release before Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil adaptation hit theaters, but things didn’t quite come together in time to hit that goal. Instead, the short film debuts on October 14.
Riggs spoke with IGN about the project and shared details about the process around deciding to show Ethan’s face and how to handle that aspect of the adaptation:
“We’re trying to do so much else super faithful and true to the game, but this is a huge aspect that we are breaking from it. But there isn’t really another good way to tell [the story] in a live-action format. I was going back and forth like ‘Okay, could we do first person the whole time? Could we avoid getting his face in or anything?’ But the more we went back and forth on it, the more I was like, ‘I mean, if we are going to do this and are going to appeal to a wider audience — more than just the people who played the games — then we’re going to have to break those rules. It was very intimidating. Hopefully people are okay with it.”
The teaser trailer is definitely high-quality and it looks like a faithful adaptation with strong acting and a good sense of building suspense. It should be very exciting to watch the whole short film later this week and see how film and gaming fans react to the this take on the franchise.
Be sure to check back soon for lots more Resident Evil and video game movie news and updates.
The Biohazard short film will be available on YouTube starting October 14, 2026.
With Ghostface showing up in everything from Mortal Kombat to Fortnite, you might be wondering whether there is a Scream video game. While the horror franchise has had a mobile adaptation, fans are still waiting for a new standalone title. However, a leaked multiplayer prototype gives us a look at a game that never made it to release.
Is There a Scream Video Game?
Screenshot: Activision Blizzard
At the time of writing, there is no new standalone Scream video game has been officially announced. So if you were hoping for an upcoming Ghostface title with a confirmed release date, there isn’t one yet.
That said, the series hasn’t completely missed out on getting its own adaptation. An official Scream 4mobile game was released in 2011 for iOS and Android. Ghostface has also appeared in several other popular titles, although those appearances are guest characters and cosmetics rather than full Scream video games.
There was even an unreleased multiplayer project that surfaced online following a Steam data leak. And based on the footage, it sounds like fans almost got a very different kind of Scream game.
Leaked Scream Video Game Prototype Explained
Screenshot: Epic Games
In September 2026, reports revealed that playable builds of an unreleased Scream project had been discovered in leaked Steam files. The prototype was reportedly developed by Fatshark, the studio behind Warhammer: Vermintide and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
The multiplayer game had players trying to escape Ghostface, while another player controlled the masked killer. If you’ve played Dead by Daylight, you can probably picture the appeal of that setup. However, the reported final build dated back to February 2011, years before Behaviour’s horror game launched.
There is a catch, though. The person who examined the files suggested that the project may have been a pitch to secure the Scream license. That detail remains speculation, so the footage shouldn’t be treated as proof that an officially licensed game was approved for release.

Feelings come super-sized out of the gate. The Scorpio Moon squares Jupiter early, so small annoyances might seem huge until you’ve had a minute to breathe. The mood lifts once the Moon moves into Sagittarius, bringing optimism and a craving for adventure. Mercury begins a long square with Jupiter, stargazer, so conversations may lean toward big promises and bigger opinions. Keep your word modest and your effort generous. Saturn’s trine to Mars and Jupiter’s sextile to the Sun both keep building, teaming hard work with good fortune. Meanwhile, Venus and Mars are making peace after this past weekend’s showdown. Pluto prepares to station direct Friday, too. Give yourself room to recalibrate, then aim high.
Somebody needs to grab the wheel, and your friends are hoping it’s you. Saturn’s trine to Mars keeps strengthening, pairing your fearless streak with a solid game plan, Aries. Once the Moon moves into Sagittarius and trines your sign, people will follow your lead. Mars’s square to Venus is cooling, too, so you can steer without bulldozing anyone. Take charge kindly. Captain suits you.
The people you love keep evolving without asking your permission. A partner picking up a new hobby or a friend talking about moving can rattle you, Taurus. Pluto is building a square to Venus, turning these changes into a test of trust. With Venus retrograde in Scorpio, you’re rethinking what loyalty looks like. Cheer them on anyway. Love that grows lasts longer.
By the third retelling, your weekend story had picked up a few extra plot points. Jupiter’s new square to Mercury has you exaggerating for laughs, Gemini, and the Sagittarius Moon opposing your sign later means someone might call it out. Own it with a grin. Everyone loves a great storyteller, but they trust the one who admits the fish was smaller.
One offhand comment can echo in your head for hours. The Moon squares Jupiter while still in Scorpio, so a tiny slight might feel enormous, Cancer. After the Moon slips into Sagittarius, your sense of humor returns, and the whole thing looks a little silly. Give yourself until then before replying. Most molehills shrink with distance. You’ll probably laugh about this one.
If you’ve had your eye on someone, consider the door wide open. Jupiter’s sextile to the Sun keeps growing, giving your charm a serious boost, Leo. The Sagittarius Moon trines your sign later, so playful banter comes naturally. Mars and Venus are easing off their standoff, too, which makes flirting easier. Make the first move. Confidence is the best accessory.
Breaking news: even you have a limit. Mercury’s fresh square with Jupiter makes every deadline sound doable when someone asks, Virgo. Later, the Sagittarius Moon squares your sign, and that ambitious timeline may start to wobble. Pad your estimates before you agree to anything. Promise a little less and surprise everyone with more. Your reputation for reliability stays perfectly intact.
Referee duty is calling again. Two people you care about are feuding, and both keep asking whose side you’re on, Libra. Venus’s growing square with Pluto could turn their power struggle ugly if you stay in the middle. Mars is easing its square to Venus, opening room for peace. Suggest they talk directly. You can love them both from the sidelines.
Before you write anyone off, consider that they might just be having a rough week. Pluto is closing in on a square with Venus, dialing up your suspicion in love and loyalty, Scorpio. With Pluto’s opposition to Mars almost gone, the urge to retaliate is fading. Ask what’s going on, then decide what it means. Some mysteries have boring answers. That’s good news.
Someday has a way of turning into never. That trip you and your friends keep hyping needs a date on the calendar, Sagittarius. The Moon moves into your sign today, firing up your wanderlust, and Jupiter’s growing sextile to the Sun lends some luck to the planning. Jupiter’s square to Mercury could inflate the budget, so price it out first. Then book it.
Personal bests were made for people like you. Saturn and Mars are inching toward a trine, pairing discipline with raw physical energy, Capricorn. Pick a challenge, at the gym or anywhere else, and chip away at it. Uranus’s sextile to Saturn might inspire a smarter way to train. With Saturn retrograde, revisit a goal you shelved. Yesterday’s you is the only rival.
Only you could answer “How are you?” with a lecture on the human condition. Uranus is retrograde, inviting you to explore the parts of yourself you usually intellectualize, Aquarius. The Sagittarius Moon sextiles your sign later, making openness feel less awkward. Uranus’s sextile with Saturn helps you find the words. Next time someone asks, give them one honest sentence. Then let them hug you.
Leave it to a well-meaning realist to poke holes in your big dream. The Sagittarius Moon squares your sign later, so feedback could come out blunter than intended, Pisces. Keep the helpful parts and toss the rest. Neptune’s trine with Mars wraps up tomorrow, so use its last push to make tangible progress. Retrograde Neptune keeps you grounded. Dreamers build things too.
If anyone can take credit for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s longevity, it’s Danny DeVito. The veteran actor joined the cast during the second season because the network thought they needed to hire somebody famous in order to boost the ratings. As Dennis and Dee’s father, Frank Reynolds, DeVito immediately clicked with fans, and arguably helped save the long-running series from cancellation. But he wasn’t the only big name being eyed for the part.
In a 2022 episode of The Always Sunny Podcast, Glenn Howerton revealed that there was actually a point when they were “really serious” about getting Ray Liotta to play Frank. Though primarily known for his dramatic work, Liotta did venture into comedy at different stages of his career, appearing in films like Observe and Report, voicing characters on Family Guy and The Simpsons, and even guest-starring on a few sitcoms. It’s unclear why he didn’t end up getting the role of Frank, but needless to say, the character’s run would’ve been cut short if he had, due to Liotta’s untimely death in 2022.
‘It’s Always Sunny IN PHILADELPHIA’ Could Have Had a Very Different Frank Reynolds
One Always Sunny cast member at least got to work with Liotta later on, however, as the Goodfellas star played a film producer in Charlie Day’s 2023 directorial debut Fool’s Paradise. Unfortunately, Liotta didn’t live to see the project’s release because production was delayed several times, but he was reportedly very enthusiastic about it. “Ray would text me every three months like, ‘Hey, man, what’s going on with that movie we did?’” Day recalled ahead of the premiere. “And I would say, ‘Ray, I’m so sorry. I’m stuck back doing It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.’”
But according to a later episode of The Always Sunny Podcast, Liotta also came close to doing a guest spot on the show. Though Day remains uncertain as to whether or not Liotta ever watched it, the two did discuss the possibility of him making an appearance. “So he was like, ‘And why don’t you have me on your TV show sometime?’” Day remembered. “I was like, ‘Absolutely, we’ll find something for him.’”
Liotta died on May 26, 2022, a few months after Always Sunny’s 15th season concluded. Fool’s Paradise finally hit theaters the following May.
2005’s The Amityville Horror is the second film adaptation of the controversial 1977 book of the same name, written by Jay Anson. The movie, like the book, revolves around George and Kathy Lutz (as played by Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George), who, along with their three children, move into a house in Amityville, New York, where multiple murders took place. The previous owner, Ronald DeFeo Jr., had actually killed six of his relatives in the house depicted in the film on November 13, 1974.
As you can imagine, making a movie inspired by such grisly events is creepy in and of itself, but the eerie things that happened while the Reynolds version was in production didn’t help ease any of the tension on set, that’s for sure. To begin with, the real Kathy Lutz died right after shooting commenced in August 2004. As if that wasn’t strange enough, Reynolds said that a lot of the people working on the film kept waking up at 3:15 in the morning, which was the precise time DeFeo murdered his family. “I think a lot of people make that stuff up to sell their movie,” Reynolds told MovieWeb in 2005, “but there was some weird stuff that happened.”
That weird stuff apparently included a corpse popping up near one of the filming locations, by the way. While speaking with Radio Free Entertainment ahead of the movie’s release, Melissa George claimed that the police showed up as they were shooting a boathouse scene. “They were on the water there, and they said that they found a dead body that had floated to the surface,” she recalled. “We were like, ‘Awesome! That’s making everything much more comfortable in this movie!’”
Reynolds backed up George’s story during an interview with that same publication, telling them, “I know nothing about it, and we certainly didn’t treat the situation cavalierly.” He went on to say, “This was a densely populated lake area as well. I mean, it wasn’t like a secluded pond, and this Mafia member floated up or something.” In the end, Reynolds chalked the person’s death up to a “legitimate accident,” but very little information has come to light since.
